Alex Tagliani to run NASCAR Canadian Tire Series this year; unveiling car at CME
It's official. Alex Tagliani will run the full 2014 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series schedule.
Taglani will be unveiling his No. 18 Team EpiPen/Dicom Express Dodge at the Canadian Motorsports Expo this Friday afternoon. He will then be on the Inside Track stage on Saturday at noon to discuss his plans this season, before signing autographs for fans afterwards.
The ride will be prepared out of the DJK Racing, which is run by two-time NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Champion and current competitor D.J. Kennington.
The partnership between Tagliani and EpiPen makes sense as Tagliani has lived with a food allergy since childhood and is a strong advocate for anaphylaxis awareness and management. In partnership with EpiPen, he will promote food allergy awareness and safety for a Summer of TAG. The Summer of TAG (Treating Allergies with Genuine Care) supports Alex's charity of choice, Anaphylaxis Canada, in their efforts to engage Canadians in conversation about effective management of food allergies and what to do in the event of a reaction. Tagliani made 13 IndyCar starts last year for Barracuda Racing, scoring a best finish of 10th twice. He has made 16 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series starts over the years, scoring a win in 2008 in Edmonton.
The Canadian Motorsports Expo takes places at Toronto, Ontario’s International Center and serves as the kick-off to the 2014 Canadian racing season. For more information on the CME, check out http://www.canadianmotorsportsexpo.com.
