Saturday night at Sunset Speedway wouldn't go as Brandon McFerran planned as he would suffer mechanical problems, finishing 24th in the 25 lap feature.

McFerran started the night off by finishing second and first in his pair of heats.

In the feature, McFerran started 15th and began to make his way to the front immediately, moving into ninth on lap four. McFerran then cracked the top five by six. He then passed Brian Love on lap seven to move into fourth.

That is when the problems would develop as McFerran's car would slow, allowing Billy Melenhorst to move by him. Then the Mustang slowed even more, resulting in the field bottling up behind him and Samantha Shaw being spun by Lance Foster in the process.

After the race, it was discovered that issues with the distributor were the culprit.
