This past weekend, Brian Love would once again come home sixth in the feature to once again tie his best finish of the season. It marks the fourth time this year that the No. 04 Fox's Bakery and Deli, Tire Depot Barrie, Hans-on Lawncare and Simcoe Auto Recyclers Civic has finished sixth.
The Barrie, Ontario native would finish third in both of his heats.
In the feature, the driver of the No. 04 Fox's Bakery and Deli, Tire Depot Barrie, Hans-on Lawncare and Simcoe Auto Recyclers Civic started eighth. He would quickly move his way up through the field, up to fifth on lap three. He would then jump up to first on lap four when Ken Townsend would have a problem while leading. Love would only lead one lap as it’d be Rob Krystal making a pass on him for the lead on lap six.
After two cautions, the racing would start to go smoothly and as the quicker cars made their way up through the field, Love would fall back a bit as he’d be passed by James Low, Warren Paxton and Eric Yorke to fall back to fifth on lap 10.
Love would then find himself in a battle with Tyler Dickson for fifth on lap 19, though he held him off while Dan Britt passed Dickson for sixth on lap 21. In that final lap stretch, Britt would find his way around Love for fifth, handing Love a sixth place finish for the fourth time this year.
As a result, Love would remain in sixth, still two points out of fifth.
