Brian Wilson Jr. gets involved in wreck, ending race early
This past weekend at Sunset Speedway, Brian Wilson Jr. was involved in a wreck and came home with a 23rd place finish.
The Brampton, Ontario native would finish eighth in both his heats.
Wilson would be forced to run the B-Main, where he would start fifth and finish sixth.
In the feature, Wilson would line the No. 00 Assured Car and Truck Rental, Smurf's Towing, Canadian Home Renovations, Tufff Transportation, Gunk, Pete's Automotive, Stag Automotive, Terrier Excavating and Landscaping, and Scrap Car Towing Cutlas up in the 24th position.
The first caution would come out on lap 16 for Craig Scott and Kent Constable wrecking in turn two. At this point, Wilson would be up to the 22nd position.
The second caution would come out at the 2/5th mark at lap 20 when Donny Brandon would go for a spin. At this point, Wilson would be up two more spots to the 20th position.
The third caution would involve Wilson as Steve Cashmore would spin Kevin Gallant, and Wilson would have no where to go, piling in, along with Mark Adams, Steve Perry and Scott. This would end the race for Wilson as he would have heavy front end damage that saw the motor spilling oil.
The Wednesday night event was not part of the weekend points so Wilson remains 11th in points, 41 points out of the top 10. It was a McColl Racing Enterprises Pro Series event so now Wilson sits in the 17th position, 10 points out of 15th. The next M.R.E Pro Series event is Wednesday August 15th.
