Following a late race restart with a late race move, Dwayne Baker would lead the final five laps to win the 20th Annual Autumn Colors Limited Late Model 75 lapper.

In the first heat on Friday night, Barrie Speedway’s Thayne Hallyburton would win, followed by Marvin Freiburger, Kelly Balson, John Baker Jr., Steve Foster, Tyler Liscum, Cory Horner, the 25 and the 4.

In the second heat, Barrie Speedway’s Gord Shepherd would take the win, followed by Jason Parker, Nick Goetz, Sean Cronan, Tony Tiemersma, Dario Capirchio, John Lockhart and Jennifer.

The third heat would go to Peterborough Speedway’s Chris Mitchell, followed by Todd Delisle, Dwayne Baker, Al Inglis, Cory Horner, Ed Bombly and the 99.

The fourth heat would go to Sauble Speedway’s Scott McTeer, followed by Billy Zardo, Randy Bull, Tommy Robb, Tom Walters, Andrew Kamrath and the Alvin McNicol.

The fifth heat on Saturday afternoon would go to Sauble Speedway driver Marvin Freiburger, ahead of Cory Horner, Foster, Liscum, Balson and Baker Jr.

The sixth heat would go to Sauble’s Jason Parker followed by Goetz, Cronan, Shepherd, Tiemersma, Capirchio, Lockhart and Jennifer.

On the initial green flag for seventh heat, Jack Horner would spin, collecting the 99. Then on lap six,
the 99 would hit the wall. It’d be Barrie Speedway’s Al Inglis taking the win ahead of Baker, Rick Walt, Delisle, Mitchell and Jack Horner.

In the final heat, Billy Zardo would receive the black flag while leading due to leaking gas. In return, Sunset Speedway’s Tom Walters took the win ahead of Bull, McTeer, Robb, Kamrath and McNicol.

In the B-main, Jennifer would go for a spin on lap four. It’d be Liscum taking the win ahead of Jack Horner, Walt and Capirchio to make the show. Lockhart, the 25 and Jennifer would be sent to the house.

Virtue of their first and second places in the Chase for for the Colors event earlier this year, Tom Walters would start pole with Andrew Kamrath second for the Autumn Colors Limited Late Model 75-lapper.  Kamrath would jump out to the early lead ahead of Walters, Scott McTeer, Jason Parker and Marvin Freiburger. Freiburger would drop back to sixth on lap six after being passed by Gord Shepherd. Dwayne Baker would also pass Freiburger on lap 15 to move into the sixth position.

At lap 21, it’d be Kamrath leading Walters, McTeer, Shepherd, Parker and Baker. the Colors event earlier this year, Tom Walters would start pole with Andrew Kamrath second for the Autumn Colors Limited Late Model 75-lapper.  Kamrath would jump out to the early lead ahead of Walters, Scott McTeer, Jason Parker and Marvin Freiburger. Freiburger would drop back to sixth on lap six after being passed by Gord Shepherd. Dwayne Baker would also pass Freiburger on lap 15 to move into the sixth position.

The first caution would come out at lap 23 when Tyler Liscum went around on the front stretch. So with 53 laps to go, it’d be Kamrath leading Walters, McTeer, Parker, Shepherd, Baker, Freiburger, Nick Goetz, Chris Mitchell and Sean Cronan.

On the restart, Kamrath would jump out to the lead once again with McTeer getting by Walters for second. Walters would then lock into a battle with Shepherd for third. Shepherd would clear Walters on lap 27, leaving Walters to battle with Baker for fourth. Baker would clear Walters on lap 28, pushing Walters back to a battle with Parker for fifth. Paker would clear Walters on lap 29.

The second caution would come out just after Parker completed the pass as Todd Delisle and Tony Tiemersma would wreck in turn four. Under caution, John Baker Jr., Liscum and Steve Foster would pit.

On the restart, there’d be another caution when Robb would get spun, collecting Capirchio while Baker Jr. also spun. Jack Horner had heavy front end damage so possibly started with Horner getting into Robb. Walters would make a pit stop under caution.

On the restart, Kamrath would once again jump ahead of the field with McTeer running second, followed by Shepherd and Parker while Baker and Mitchell battled for fifth. Baker would clear Mitchell for fifth on lap 31. The top six would continue to run single file till lap 44 when both Parker and Baker would slip past Shepherd for position.

The fourth caution would then come out when Mitchell would spin virtue of contact from Goetz. Under caution, Robb and Cory Horner would pit. With 32 laps to go, it’d be Kamrath leading McTeer, Parker, Baker, Shepherd, the 10b, Billy Zardo and Sean Cronan.

On the restart, Kamrath would jump ahead of the field with Parker up to second while McTeer battled with Shepherd for third. Shepherd would clear McTeer for third on lap 45, leaving him to battle with Zardo for fourth. Zardo would clear McTeer for fourth on lap 46.

At lap 50 with 25 laps to go, it’d be Kamrath leading Parker, Shepherd, Zardo, McTeer, Baker and Walt. The fifth caution would then come out at lap 52 for Liscum spinning in turn three. Under caution, both Baker Jr. and Robb would pit.

On the restart, Kamrath would once again grab the lead ahead of Parker, Shepherd, Zardo, McTeer and Baker while Walt and the 10b ran side-by-side for seventh.

On lap 57, Randy Bull would climb the turn three/four wall but there’d be no caution.

On lap 58, there’d be the second lead change of the race when Parker would get by Kamrath. The caution would then come out though for Tommy Robb spinning on the front stretch while Liscum had heavy front end damage. Cory Horner would stop under caution and be pushed down pit road by Al McNicol.

On the restart, it’d be Kamrath reclaiming the lead, jumping ahead of Parker, Shepherd and McTeer while the 10b and Zardo battled for fifth. On lap 60, both the Balson and Walters would get by Zardo, bumping Zardo back to seventh. Baker would then pass Zardo for seventh on lap 61.

The seventh caution would come out at lap 63 for Zardo stopping in turn two. He would be pushed off the track, done for the event.

On the restart, Kamrath would once again jump ahead of the field, still time followed by Shepherd, Parker, McTeer, Walters, Balson, Baker and Cronan.

The eighth caution would then come out at lap 68 for Parker getting into Shepherd, sending Shepherd for a spin, collecting Walters in the wreck.

On the restart, Kamrath would pull ahead of McTeer, Baker, Cronan, Balson and Goetz. Though in the process of the next two laps, Baker would work his way from third to the lead ahead of McTeer and Kamrath while Balson had passed Cronan for fourth.

2012 Barrie Speedway Track Champion Dwayne Baker would lead the final five laps to take the victory in the 20th Annual Autumn Colors Limited Late Model 75 lapper. Sauble Speedway regular Scott McTeer would get second with fellow Sauble driver Andrew Kamrath rounding out the top three. Sean Cronan and Rick Walt would complete the top five.

Kelly Balson would finish sixth, followed by Nick Goetz, Chris Mitchell, Marvin Freiburger and Todd Delisle.

In victory lane, Baker would thank Adam for giving him the lucky penny to seal the deal.
