After suffering damage in the first heat, Eric Yorke and his DY Racing crew would get the car fixed and he would go on to finish a solid fifth in the feature.
Yorke would start fifth in the first heat, and would find himself barely avoiding major trouble on the first lap when Mike Robinson Jr. got into Wendy Adams on the front stretch. Adams would get sideways and into Yorke, however Yorke was able to straighten the car out and keep going without touching the wall.
However, he wouldn’t finish the heat without problems as on the second lap after the restart, Peter Inglis would get insides and drive into the side of Yorke’s car. Yorke would suffer right front suspension damage, requiring him to go pit side and fail to finish the heat.
Yorke and the DY Racing team would work hard and fix the damage, having Yorke back out for the second heat of the night. He would go on to win the heat.
As a result of his qualifying effort, Yorke would start the feature in the 20th position. The first three laps of the feature would see four back-to-back cautions, though Yorke would escape the wrecks and begin to work his way through the field.
By the fourth lap, he would be up to the fifth position, passing Gehrig Haliday for fourth on lap five. He would then pass Kevin Pickford on lap six for third.
On lap 17, Yorke would fall back to the fourth position after being passed by Warren Paxton.
There’d be a caution with five laps to go when Kendra Adams would spin. Yorke would restart in the fourth position, though was passed on lap 23 by Ken Townsend.
As a result, Yorke would finish fifth for his fourth top five and fifth top 10 in five races thus far this season.
