Coming into the year, everybody knew that Eric Yorke would be strong. However, did they predict him winning three of the first five features? Probably not.
In the first heat, the action would start right away with Mike Robinson Jr. spinning on the first lap while Wendy Adams spun on lap four. Warren Paxton would take the win for his sixth, followed by Eric Yorke, Nicole Podewils, Robinson Jr. and Terry Clodd.
In the second heat, rookie Tyler Dickson would pick up his second heat win, followed by Branden Bullen, Ken Townsend, Rob Krystal and Brian Love.
In the third heat, Bill Pearsall would take the heat win in his first start of the season, followed by Rory Collett, Dan Britt, Harold Noseworthy and Stephen Wilson.
In the fourth heat, Wendy Adams and Kevin Pickford would wreck on the first lap. In the end, Paxton would go for the daily double, followed by Podewils, Yorke, Robinson Jr. and Clodd.
In the fifth heat, Tyler Johnston would pick up his first career Mini Stock heat victory, followed by Bullen, Dickson, Love and Eric Rainey.
In the sixth heat, Collett would pick up his third heat victory of the season, followed by Britt, Pearsall, Wilson and Noseworthy.
In the feature, Eric Rainey would start on the pole as the action started right away with Gary Jones and Ron Goodall spinning. Kevin Pickford would be up to second at this point, followed by Rory Collett, Harold Noseworthy and Mike Robinson Jr.
On the restart, Pickford would take the lead as Rainey began to fall through the pack, allowing everybody to move up a position. On lap three, Collett would get along Pickford and complete the pass on lap four for the lead. By lap 10, Robinson Jr. would be up to third past Noseworthy, followed by Eric Yorke and Dan Britt.
The second caution would come out on lap 11 for Rob Krystal going up in smoke, oiling down the track. Then on the backstretch, Pickford would get involved in an incident, after recieving contact from Robinson Jr. He would have to make a green flag pit stop, dropping him out of the second position. This would allow Robinson Jr. to move up to second behind Collett, followed by Britt, Yorke and Branden Bullen.
On the restart, Yorke would pass Britt before the next caution came out for rookie Stephen Wilson going for a spin, collecting Brian Love and Bill Pearsall.
After the restart, Yorke would find his way by Robinson Jr. and begin to hunt down Collett. While they were trying to get around the lap car of Wendy Adams, Yorke would make the pass on Collett. He would lead the final 10 laps for his third feature victory of the year.
Collett would get second for his third top five of the season after having issues the first two nights, followed by Paxton, Bullen and Britt. Robinson Jr. would finish sixth for his second top 10 of the season, followed by Tyler Dickson, Nicole Podewils, Ken Townsend and Terry Clodd.
Yorke continues to lead the point standings, now 55 points ahead of Dan Britt.
