Race #11                                             Sunset Speedway

It was a great night of stock car racing at Sunset Speedway on July 6th.  The weather was very hot and humid, but produced some very exciting nonstop racing.  Hot weather usually brings hot-tempers, but the boys and girls put on excellent racing in all three classes.

Gehrig ran smooth in both of his qualifying races to maintain a top five in the point standings.  He is learning how to handle his car in traffic very well.

The Mini Stock class, like the Late Models are very competitive and respectful of each other. The tight running Mini’s ran side by side, 3 and 4 wide completing the 25 laps event without a caution.
In the very competitive Late Model field our team has made improvements inch by inch the past few weeks.  Our crew was very excited after the final round of hot laps, looking forward to having our best night yet at Sunset Speedway.

A full field battled in the 30 lap feature. The race went nonstop from green to checker. We would have liked to make one small change on our car to make it better but in spite of having a slight push, we still had our best finish in this class in 2013.
