Jamie Bounds continued his solid season as he won the Hurricane Midget feature at Sunset Speedway as part of Sunset’s Velocity 250 weekend.

The afternoon didn’t get off to the best of starts as Bill Hetherton ran into problems in the first heat. Then Dave Bradley would go for a spin in turn four. To cap it all off, Ryan Brown spun and then both Rob Summer and Tessa Cremasco spun behind him. Bounds won the heat ahead of Robin McLean, James Stanley, James Rodgers and Connor Carrothers.

The second heat only saw one incident as Kelly Summers went for a spin. Paul Draganac took the win ahead of Rob McCall, Richard Woodland, Brian Woodland and Adam Carrothers.

Due to the amount of cars, there would be a B-main to help determine the starting field. At the end of that race, it was Dave Bradley taking the win ahead of Mark Dennis, Randy Hiusser, Ryan Brown and Kevin Spiesz.

Come time for the A-Main, it’d be Rob McCall grabbing the early lead though there’d be a quick lap one caution when James Rodgers and Adam Carrothers got together.

On the restart, McCall would lead Jessica James, Brad Holmes, James Stanley and Brian Woodland. On lap three, Holmes would pass James for the second spot. Stanley would then jump into third on lap four, leaving James to battle three-wide with Woodland and Connor Carrothers. Woodland grabbed fourth on lap five with Carrothers following suit into fifth. Carrothers fell out of the top five on lap six, though, when he was passed by Jamie Bounds. Bounds then got alongside Woodland for fourth on lap seven, passing him on lap eight before the caution came out for Adam Tyo stalling.

On the restart, McCall continued to lead while Bounds jumped up to second followed by Holmes, Carrothers and Stanley.

On lap 10, Bounds would complete his climb to the lead as he would pass McCall for the lead. On lap 12, Carrothers slipped by Holmes for third.

Jamie Bounds led the second half of the event, uncontested, as he picked up the feature win ahead of Rob McCall, Adam Carrothers, Brad Holmes and James Stanley.
