After a streak of solid good finishes, the July 21st feature at Sunset Speedway wouldn’t go the way the KDR Motorsports team had hoped as a loose throttle linkage bolt would hand them a last place feature finish.

In the first heat, the Orangeville, Ontario native came home second after starting fourth.

In the second heat, Cornelius started fifth and finished third.

In the feature, Cornelius would start the No. 17 Halton Crushed Stone Lee Sand & Gravel, Hanson Concrete Products, Sandbox Tech Child Care, Alliston Transmissions, Ed’s Automotive and Fierce Wraps Late Model in the 12th position.

The caution would come out just after the initial green flag for Keith Maiato going for a spin. Under that caution, Cornelius brought the car down pit road and the problem was discovered.

Cornelius would make it back out following a lap 21 caution, make a lap and park the car, finishing in the 18th position.

In the point standings, Cornelius drops to second in points, 27 points behind Tom Walters.

KDR Motorsports would like to thank all the fans that came out during the Fan Appreciation ceremonies and for their support. Hope to see you back at Sunset Speedway on July 28th.
