It was a busy night for our team at Delaware Speedway. We ran two classes, the Outlaw Pro 4 Modified and our Vintage Modified 33 Chev Coupe.
We raced hard taking a 4th in the 8 lap qualifier, then 7th in the 25 lap feature race. The top 8 cars in the feature event ran nose to tail putting on a great show for the fans. Our next race in the Vintage Modified is September 28th at Sunset Speedway.
July 28th Sunset Speedway
We returned to our home track for a second show with the Outlaw Pro 4 Modified on Sunday. The car was very fast again, turning lap times a half a second faster than our Late Model class.
We raced hard on this day trying to duplicate our win at Delaware, only in front of our home track fans. We came close in both heat races finishing 4th and 2nd. In the first heat we were beside the leader going into turn three but he pushed up sending us in the marbles, and though we didn’t spin, we lost 2 spots finishing 4th. In the 2nd heat we caught the leader on the last lap but ran out of time and could not make a move on him.
In the feature we were stuck in traffic while the car on the pole grabbed a huge lead. There were no cautions and though we raced hard could not catch him. We finished 2nd capping off a great weekend of racing.
