For any Monster Jam driver, World Finals weekend in Las Vegas is the ultimate goal to firstly, qualify and then to win.
World Finals weekend is where the top 24 trucks, who have qualified throughout the season with their success, compete for both the racing and freestyle championship.
For drivers entering the sport, to be part of the top 24 is where they'd like to find themselves. Though starting this year, the young drivers will have a chance to go to Las Vegas another way.
On Friday night during the World Finals weekend, Monster Jam will host the Young Guns Shootout. This shootout will feature eight drivers who have two years or less experience in Monster Jam, and have not qualified for the World Finals. They will compete against each other and at the end, one of them will be crwoend the Young Guns Champion.
Monster Jam have began announcing the drivers that will be competitng, with six of the eight competitors announced.
The competitors so far include......
Nicole Johnson (pictured), driver of Advance Auto Parts Grinder, began competiting in Monster Jam last season after competiting in four-wheelers for 17 years. She won multiple times in U.S. Rock Crawling competitions and in the Lucas Oil Off Road Series.
Bari Musawwir, driver of Spider-Man, began competiting in 2010 after catching the eyes of Monster Jam officials through his multiple wins in remote-control trucks.
Scott Buetow, driver of Iron Man, began competiting last season. Buetow has been around off-road motorsports since a young age after his father got him riding at the age of six. Buetow has driven quads, bikes, while also working on them for more than 20 years.
Donald Epidendio, driver of Titan, began competiting this year after racing motorcross and then lifted trucks when he turned 16. Epidendio built himself a truck after getting the parts and kept working his way up all the way to Monster Jam.
J.R. McNeal, driver of Razin Kane, began competiting this year after years of racing 4x4s out of his own shop. McNeal has been in "Trucks Gone Wild" videos and placed second in The Mega Truck Challenge.
Morgan Kane, driver of Stone Crusher, began driving in 2010 after spending time at the Grave Digger shop, helping them out as a long-time friend of Ryan and Adam Anderson's. Kane got his chance behind the wheel when Steve Sims asked him to drive his truck.
In the coming weeks, two more competitors are set to be announced to be added to the line-up.
