Saturday January 26th marked the second round of the Maple Leaf Monster Jam tour. After beginning the tour the previous weekend in Toronto, Monster Jam headed west to Vancouver's BC Place for a one night show.

In the first half of the racing semi final, it'd be Kreg Christensen in Maximum Destruction defeating Jon Zimmer in Grave Digger. The other half would see Alex Blackwell in Captain's Curse eliminate the Canadian Monster Truck, known as Northern Nightmare, driven by 2012 World Freestyle Champion Cam McQueen.

The finals would comprise of veterans Christensen and Blackwell. Blackwell would get the early jump, though Christensen would use his 20 plus years of experience to take the victory. It marks the first 2013 Maple Leaf Monster Jam victory for team Maximum Destruction after Neil Elliott's struggles in Toronto.

In freestyle, Zimmer came out and attacked the track just like he did in Toronto the week before, bringing the crowd to their feet. The result was a score of 31 points and another freestyle win. Zimmer has now won two of the three Maple Leaf Monster Jam freestyle events, while losing in a tiebreaker to McQueen in the other. Christensen and Blackwell put on good shows also, scoring 29 and 27 points each. Meanwhile, McQueen struggled in Northern Nightmare, only scoring three points on the night.

The Maple Leaf Monster Jam tour continues next weekend - February 9th and 10th - to Edmonton, Alberta with a pair of shows planned in McQueen's hometown.
