By: Ashley McCubbin/Sunset Informative --- Nicole Podewils would work her way back up through to the field after a mid-race spin to bring home a seventh place feature finish on Sunday.

The Barrie, Ontario driver would win one of her heats, while posting a strong showing in the other.

In the feature, Podewils would start her No. 79 Fox’s Bakery and Deli, Central Appliance, Barrie ChemDry and Permatex Mustang up front, running in the third position on lap three. She’d look to get by Eric Yorke for secondon lap four, though would find herself in at three-wide battle that involved herself, Yorke and Neil Hannah on lap five, bumping her back to fourth on lap eight.

Yorke would get loose on lap nine, allowing Podewils to jump up to third, though she’d go back to fourth on lap 11 after being passed by Billy Swartzenburg.

She’d continue to run fourth till lap 16, when she’d get stuck in lap traffic, and be passed by Doug Butler, bumping her back to fifth. However, she’d get back to fourth with a pass on lap 19 around Tyler Junkin.

There would then be two back-to-back cautions within the course of the next three laps as Podewils held her own in fourth.

On a lap 23 restart, she’d get by Swartzenburg for third, before going for a spin by herself on lap 24. She’d bring her Mustang down pit road, restarting at the back of the field.

The climb through the pack would begin, with her up to the 10th position on lap 26. She’d move up to ninth on lap 27 with a pass on Scott Simmons.

On the white flag lap, she’d get into a three-wide battle with Yorke and Amanda Shaw, crossing the line in the seventh position.
