This weekend at Sunset International Speedway in Innisfil, Ontario will mark a special one and not just for the racing on track. Saturday September 1st marks Taylor Holdaway's "Race for the Cure" night at the track.
Holdaway and team will be selling 50/50 tickets to raise money for cancer research. They'll also be looking for people to make donations in two other ways.
The first by collecting $5.00 donations and in trade, they will give the individual a raffle ticket to win the one-of-a-kind diecast that Holdaway has done up of the "pink" car from last year.
The second is by collecting $10.00 donations and in trade, you will get the chance to sign a ribbon that will go on Holdaway's racecar once he turns the car from orange to pink on September 8th.
Holdaway started the fundraiser last year as he wanted to do something different.
"Same paint scheme every year, gets kind of boring," he says. "I know some cars in the (United) States tried to do something like me – like they did their numbers pink or something. I wanted to go a little bit more wild than them and paint the car pink."
In the second year doing it, Holdaway is hoping to raise over $2500 through donations from fans. Fans are welcome to make a donation of any amount that they can by speaking with Holdaway directly or one of his team members.
