It was Rory Collett crossing the line first in the Mini Stock feature; however following a disqualification in post-race technical inspection, Rob Krystal was given the win for his second feature victory in a row.
In the first heat, Ryan Goddard would go for the spin on lap seven. Rookie Tyler Dickson would win his third heat of the season, followed by Eric Yorke, Dan Britt, Clyde Doucette and Trevor Hemingway.
Rob Krystal would come home with his sixth heat win of the year in the second heat, followed by James Low, Rory Collett, Ken Townsend and Brian Love.
Points leader Eric Yorke would win his seventh heat of the season, followed by Doucette, Britt, Dickson and Hemingway.
In the final heat, Wendy Adams would spin on lap one, collecting Townsend. Collett would take the win for his sixth heat of the year, followed by Low, Krystal, Love and Townsend.
In the feature, it’d be Rory Collett jumping out to the early lead on lap two, ahead of Eric Rainey and Gehrig Halliday while Trevor Hemingway and Ken Townsend battled for fifth. The first caution would come out this lap as Barkley Rainey would go around for a spin. The running order would be set as Collett leading Eric Rainey, Halliday, Hemingway and Townsend. James Low would be sixth, followed by Brandon Chamberlain, Tyler Dickson, Tyler Johnston and Brian Love.
On the restart, Johnston would get dead right sideways, though would save it and manage to keep it going, falling some spots. Meanwhile, at the front, Hemingway would get up to second behind Collett on lap four, followed by Low while Haliday and Eric Rainey battled for fourth. On lap five, Low would begin looking for a way around Hemingway while Dickson ran fourth with Warren Paxton fifth. Low would complete the pass on Hemingway for second on lap six while Paxton would pass Dickson for fourth.
Paxton would continue his climb with a pass on Hemingway for third on lap seven. Paxton would then pass Low for second on lap 10 while Eric Yorke would crack the top five with a pass on Dickson for fifth.
The caution would come out on lap 16 for Ken Townsend spinning, collecting Chamberlain.
On the restart, Paxton would run into problems after chasing around Collett for the past six laps while the caution would come back out for Johnston getting into the outside turn four wall.
On the second attempt at a restart, Collett would lead while Rob Krystal and Low battled for second ahead of Dickson and Yorke who battled side-by-side for fourth. On lap 18, Krystal would complete the pass on Low for second. So on lap 19, it was Collett leading Krystal, Dickson, Low, Yorke and Love.
The caution would then come out once again on lap 19 as Dave Henderson Jr. would spin as a result of contact from Ryan Goddard.
After the restart on lap 21, it’d be Collett continuing to lead, ahead of Krystal, Yorke, Low and Dickson. Dan Britt now ran sixth with Love back to seventh. On lap 23 with two laps to go, Yorke would get alongside Krystal for second, though Krystal would manage to keep the position.
At the line, it was Rory Collett taking the checkered flag first. However, in post-race technical inspection, he was disqualified.
As a result, Rob Krystal gets credited with the win, marking his second straight feature victory. Eric Yorke gets second for his ninth top five of 2012 to keep his perfect season record, followed by James Low in third for his fourth top five finish. Tyler Dickson gets fourth for his second top five with Dan Britt rounding out the top five. Brian Love gets sixth, followed by Trevor Hemingway, Clyde Doucette, Gehrig Haliday and Mike Twizell. No. 4 finished 11th, followed by Townsend, Adams, Burlovich, Eric Rainey, Goddard and Johnston.
