The Spira - Chetty's team arrived at Flamboro Speedway under cloudy skies with very humid temperatures for the second Grisdale race of the season. Scott was experiencing clutch problems in his #44 Mustang, so he missed the first practice session. The Dominion Sure Seal #86 had a push in the centre, however Billy’s biggest problem was a lack of power that was resolved by cleaning dirt from the carburetor. Both the #22 and the #81 were pushy on corner exit so Sam's car was fixed with a stagger adjustment while Wade added a spring rubber and a spring change and sway bar adjustment were made on the #86. The #22, #81, and #86 were better in the second session, and no adjustments were requested by the drivers, however Scotty was still experiencing clutch problems so the crew concentrated on getting him ready for his heat race.

Wade and Scott were in the first heat starting 5th and 7th. After taking the green flag, Wade moved his way into 4th while Scott fell to the back with more mechanical problems and pulled off the track. Wade moved his way into 3rd on the fourth lap, behind the #10 and #61, however the position was quickly taken back by the #5 on lap 5. Wade finished 4th, with the #10 of Courtney Scott taking the win. The Spira Team would like to extend a big congratulations to Courtney on her first ever win after five years of racing at Flamboro Speedway. Courtney took her victory lap as the teams in the pits cheered her on, along with many fans in the main grandstands that have watched her never give up in her quest to become a winning driver. The Lucas Oil Products #81 rolled out 4th for the second heat, with Billy behind her in 6th in his Chetty's Hot Sauce #86. The #37 dropped out of the lineup with mechanical problems as the white flag was shown, moving Sam up to 3rd and Billy to 5th. On lap 2, Billy had moved his way up to 4th behind Sam, then as a team they worked their way under the #01 for 2nd and 3rd. Sam tried many different moves to get around the leader, but was not able to find enough racing room to get around him. Sam’s attempts to get under the #13 for the win, allowed Billy the room to move to the outside of Sam on the last lap to take second at the checkered flag behind the #13 with Sam in 3rd.

The Mini-stock feature lined up after a very lengthy Grisdale Triple Crown Late Model wreckfest and Thunder car feature. Wade started closest to the front in 3rd, followed by Sam in 9th, Billy 11th, and Scotty 17th. As the green flag flew, Billy jumped up to the outside lane four-wide as Wade took the lead. By lap 2, Billy had worked the #86 up to and past his teammate in the #22 for the lead. The Gunk #81 was 5th on lap 4 while Billy worked on extending his already lengthy lead over the main pack of cars. Scotty pulled off on lap 16 with a blown engine while the others ran with the #86-1st, #81-5th, and #22-8th. With 4 laps to go, Sam made her way under the #1 car for fourth and started to chase down the #31, who was a straightaway ahead in 3rd. On the last lap, the #92, who was running second ahead of the #31, got tagged by a lapped car that sent him into the wall, gathering the #31 close behind him. The race ended under caution giving Billy his 4th feature win of the season, Samantha 2nd and Wade 7th. Scotty received 18th after pulling off early in the race with a damaged motor.

Next up for the Spira Team is a rare mid week trip to Sunset Speedway for the second of four races in the McColl Racing Series on Wednesday July 11th. Pit gates open at 2:30pm, practice starts at 4:00pm, the main gates open at 5:30pm, and racing is set to begin at 7:00pm.
