When Mike Bentley rolled into Barrie Speedway on Saturday night, there was a question in many minds - would he have a solid night or would it be another night of misfortune? Well, the night ended well as Bentley won the first feature for the Wahta Springs Late Models.

The Sunset Speedway regular has had a mixed bag of results this year as he has two wins, though also has three poor finishes due to being involved in wrecks and a blackflag while racing for the lead.

Though Bentley had also been success at Barrie Speedway in the past as he won the Gary Reynolds Memorial last year.

Due to being his first start of the year at Barrie, he would start near the back while 2011 NASCAR Whelen Series Division 3 Champion Shawn Murray started on pole. The previous week, Murray had finished 11th in the second feature.

Murray would hold the lead at the front for the early part of the race, before handing the lead over to Gord Shepherd. Meanwhile, Murray would fall through the field as he had problems.

Meanwhile, Bentley made his way through the field and was up to the fifth position by lap seven. With 10 laps to go, he ran third. However, two impressive passes by both Al Inglis and Shepherd would hand him the lead with two laps to go.

He would lead those final two laps for his second feature win in his second start at Barrie and his third feature win overall this year. Shepherd would finish second with Inglis in third. Mike Brown would come home with an impressive fourth place finish with last year's NASCAR Whelen Series Ontario Champion Ron Quesnelle in fifth.
