Tom Walters picks up second feature win of 2013 at Sunset Speedway
At the end of the Sunset-Sauble Home-to-Home Series - Sunset version, it’d be Tom Walters picking up his second feature victory of the 2013 season.
Chris Morrow would lead all the way up to the feature’s only caution at lap 20 for Brian Wilson Jr. spinning out in front of the leaders. On the restart, Walters would be able to get around Morrow to pick up the win.
In eight races thus far this season, Walters has finished in the top five seven times, with his only non-top five being an eighth place finish. Walters won last year’s championship using consistency to his advantage. Looks like the 30-time champion is heading down that path once again.
Morrow would finish second to pick up his fourth top five finish of the season. It marks a good comeback for Morrow following the rear-end break last week in the second heat.
After blowing the motor last week in his primary car, Dwayne Baker would bring out his back-up car and lay down another solid finish as he would finish third in the feature.
Billy Zardo would finish fourth for his third top five of the year, while Jason Witty rounded out the top five.
Walters won the first heat ahead of Taylor Holdaway.
Andy Kamrath won the second heat ahead of Scott McTeer and Josh Stade.
Mike Bentley won the third heat.
Morrow won the fourth heat ahead of Beatty, Zardo, Walters and Holdaway.
Witty won the fifth heat.
Bentley won the last heat.
