When it comes to the fall Autumn Colors event at Peterborough Speedway, Tom Walters is always a threat to take home the checkered flag. So it was no surprise that on Sunday afternoon, he took home the checkered flag in the Chase for the Colors Late Model feature.

Barrie Speedway points leader Dwayne Baker would win the first heat, followed by Ryan Kimball, Chris Mitchell, Dave Horner, Mark Gordon and Tyler Liscum.

M.R.E Pro Series Round 1 race winner Tom Walters would win the second heat, followed by Kelly Balson, Andrew Kamrath, No. 23, Bryan Sudsbury and Howie Crowe. There'd be one caution when Tony Tiemersma would have a flat tire and get into Crowe.

Peterborough Speedway regular Liscum would win the third heat, followed by Mitchell, Todd Delisle, Gordon and Horner.

Walters would go for the sweep as he would win the fourth heat as he beat Tiemersma by a nose at the line. Kamrath finished third, followed by Balson and Sudsbury.

As a result of winning both of his qualifying heats, Tom Walters would start on pole for the 75-lap feature race. Though on the start, it'd be Kelly Balson grabbing the lead while Walters ran side-by-side with Todd Delisle for second. Walters would get ahead of Delisle and he would pass Balson back for the lead on lap four. Andrew Kamrath would also make his way by Delisle for third.

The first caution would come out on lap five for Delisle spinning out, collecting a bunch of drivers that included Tyler Liscum, Ryan Kimball, Tony Tiemersma, Dave Horner, Howie Crowe and Chris Mitchell.

On the restart, Kamrath would get by Balson for second and follow Walters. Balson would fall into the clutches of Tiemersma and they would battle for third while Dwayne Baker ran fifth. Tiemersma would clear Balson for third on lap seven.

The second caution would come out on lap 19 for Horner spinning.

Shortly after the restart, Balson would get under Tiemersma for third and clear him while Baker and Delisle would also clear Tiemersma by lap 31. On lap 36, both John Baker Jr. and Tyler Liscum would make their way to the pits with problems. Tiemersma's problems would come to a standstill as he would stall in turn four to bring out the caution on lap 41.

On the restart, Baker would pass Balson for third as Kamrath would stay on Walters' bumper, looking for a way around. He would give Walters a couple of bumps in the final 10 laps, though wouldn't find a way to open the door enough to get by.

Tom Walters would take the victory to win the pole qualifying spot for the Autumn Colors event in October. Walters revealed in victory lane that he would be converting the car that he ran that day into an Open Late Model to run the 113 lap Open Late Model event during Autumn Colors. He added that his old car would come out as the Limited Late Model and be the car that started on pole come Autumn Colors.

Andrew Kamrath would finish second to win the second qualifying spot for the Autumn Colors event in October. Dwyane Baker and Todd Delisle would finish third and fourth, guaranteeing them a starting spot no worse than 13th and 14th come Autumn Colors. They can improve their starting position via the qualifying races during the weekend.

Bryan Sudsbury finished fifth, followed by No. 52, Howie Crowe and Dave Horner.
