While Terry Woodley was at a wedding this past weekend, Trevor Hemingway stepped behind the wheel of the NFC Motorsports Mini Stock. The night didn’t end well for Hemingway as he would spin with Kendra Adams making contact afterwards, resulting in heavy damage to the right side and a 20th place finish.
Hemingway finished seventh in the first heat after starting second. He then finished eighth in the second heat after starting fifth.
Come feature time, Hemingway would start 21st and made his way up to 15th by the second caution at lap 10 for Peter Inglis spinning in turns one and two. He would fall back to 17th after being passed by Eric Yorke and Doug Wilman by the third caution at lap 13 for Chris Free spinning off of turn four. Hemingway held his own the next couple of cautions to continue to sit comfortably in 17th.
In the final laps, Hemingway continued to battle hard, making his way by Kendra Adams to move into 16th. However, coming off of turn two with two laps to go, Hemingway would get loose and in the process of trying to correct it, got sideways, coming across the track. With the right side facing the field, Kendra Adams would make hard contact, crushing in the right side door of the No. 6 Mini Stock.
Hemingway would be okay, but as far as the car, that’s a different story. Woodley has stated that he will do whatever he can to be out this Saturday night, possibly behind the wheel of his old Mini Stock. Woodley currently sits fifth in points, 17 points ahead of Brian Love.
