After suffering a wreck during the heats, Tyler Johnston would come back to finish 11th in the feature on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.

Johnston would start the first heat in the sixth position. On the second lap, he would find himself in a three-wide battle with Lucas Wolf and Shawn Gerrior. The three would come together off of turn two, resulting in Johnston hitting the inside wall, while Gerrior and Wolf got stuck together.

Johnston's TRJ Motorsports would work hard to get the car fixed for the second heat, where he would finish fourth after starting second.

In the feature, Johnston would start up front, quickly taking the lead on the opening lap. He would hold the lead all the way to the first caution on lap six for Dan Archibald spinning.

On the restart, he would passed by Ken Townsend for the lead, before dropping back to ninth by lap 12.

In second half of the feature, he would be passed by two more cars before finishing 11th

Johnston noted that it was tough night for his team as a result of breaking a motor mount in the feature, and dragging the exhaust the final six laps.

As a result, Johnston currently sits 15th in points, 71 points out of 10th.
