After being involved in a mid-race wreck on the front stretch, Tyler Johnston would battle hard the rest of the way in the feature to finish 13th.
The Holland Landing, Ontario driver would finish sixth in his first heat after starting third. He would back that up with a fourth in his second heat after starting seventh.
In the feature, driver of the No. 07 Custom Copper Works, L S Masonry, Clean Up Green Up, Larry Wilsons Contracting, Home Innovations and Entra Civic would start mid-pack and begin to pick and choose his passes. Though he’d get slowed up on nine when he was caught in the maylay on the front stretch, causing some damage to the car. He would be able to continue, restarting the race in the 12th position. He would run in that position for most of the second half of the race, slipping back to 13th in the final laps. It marks the fourth straight week that the TRJ Motorsports has finished outside of the top 10 with some sort of bad luck. Hopefully August brings better luck for Johnston and the team.
As a result, Johnston slipped back to eighth in points, 72 points out of seventh.
