On Saturday night at Sunset Speedway, TRJ Motorsports driver Tyler Johnston would battle hard to an eighth place finish.
He started off the night by finishing second and fourth in his heats.
In the feature, he would start in the third position and pass Lisa DeLeeuw for second before the caution came out on lap two for a wreck in turn two.
After the restart, Johnston would fall back to third after being passed by Gehrig Halliday. Johnston would then race three-wide with Warren Paxton and Eric Yorke, before falling back to fifth. He then fell back to sixth on lap nine after being passed by Nicole Podewils. Myles Tyson would pass Johnston before the caution for Morgan Robson blowing up on lap 12.
On the restart, Podewils would run into problems, bumping Johnston up to the sixth position.
On the restart, Johnston would battle hard, including some three-wide racing at lap 15 with Terry Clodd and Brian Love, finishing up the feature in the eighth position.
As a result, he sits 13th in points, 85 points out of 10th.
