Tyler Johnston battled hard on Saturday night to come home with a ninth place feature finish on Saturday night.
Johnston finished sixth in both of his heats.
In the feature, Johnston started on pole and led the opening three laps, keeping Lucas Wolf behind him. On lap four coming off of turn four, Wolf would make contact with Johnston, causing Johnston’s car to go completely sideways. Johnston would save it and keep going while Wolf spun to bring out the caution.
On the restart, Johnston would slip to third as both Billy Swatzenburg and Brandon McFerran would slip by him before the second caution came out for Wendy Adams spinning.
After the restart, Johnston would continue to slip back to eighth by lap 14 as the faster cars made their way to the front of the field.
In the second half of the feature, Johnston held the eighth spot and battled hard through traffic, till the last lap when Brian Love would barely beat him at the line for the position. As a result, Johnston was credited with a ninth place finish.
