VIDEO: Mark Dilley’s Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame Induction Speech

By: Ashley McCubbin

Behind the wheel, Mark Dilley was able to score race victories on a local level at Barrie Speedway and Sunset Speedway, propelling him to the NASCAR Canada Series. He continued finding checkered flag, scoring three wins with a best points finish of sixth.

His contributions to motorsports go beyond that, though, as he spent time as the General Manager at Barrie Speedway, before serving as the vice president at Sunset Speedway and overseeing their $1.5 million renovation. He also then spent two years as a co-owner at Sauble Speedway later on.

There was also the driving experience he had at both Barrie and Sunset, which allowed for several individuals to get their first taste of being behind the wheel of a stock car.

All of his contributions were recognized earlier this month as he was one of the 15 inducted into the Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame. His full speech can be watched below.
