TORONTO, Ontario — Starting to find his way and get the results he has been after since jumping behind the wheel of an NTT IndyCar Series, Christian Rasmussen enters the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy with a smile on his face.
“I feel like we’ve done a good progression over the year, so just looking to continue that and have another good result,” he told the media on Friday in Toronto.
Rasmussen started off the 2024 campaign with eight straight results outside of the top-10, but hopes to carry the momentum after picking up an ninth-place finish at Mid-Ohio SportsCar Course.
“I think we’re moving in the direction that we thought we would,” he explained. “I think the start of the year was a little messy, partly my fault with some of the things i did, partly other things that happened, that have taken away potentially good results. It was nice to finally get the result we deserve at Mid-Ohio. I’ve been happy with my progression, and the team is happy with where I am headed.”
Now moving forward to the second half of the year, Rasmussen wants to put a focus behind improving his qualifying effort, currently averaging a starting spot of 17.6.
“I think qualifying in IndyCar is really important, and really sets you for the weekend,” he said. “So really being able to perform in qualifying and have a good starting spot for the race is super important.”
Rasmussen will take the green flag for the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy from the 12th position.
