Alex Palou Ready for Magical Season To Continue in Toronto

By: Ashley McCubbin

TORONTO, Ontario — Most drivers dream of winning a single race in their career, or perhaps one each season. Alex Palou, though, has done much more than that this season.

Palou has put together the dream year, capturing seven wins through the first 12 races of the season.

“It’s been a magical year all together,” he told NEWS FROM THE PITS. “It’s tough to put it into words to be in the position that we are in. I think it’s tough to do what we are doing and continue to be on this streak. But the good thing is there’s been a lot of back-to-back races for us, it’s been helping us to have such a good window. If we could continue this, that would be awesome.”

There are five races left in the year, and if Palou was able to capture three more victories, he would tie the record set by AJ Foyt in 1964 with 10 wins.

In recent seasons, Palou has not been able to capture the checkered flag in Toronto, with his best performance coming with a runner-up in 2023. He reasoned on Friday it was due to his past qualifying experiences, having never started better than 15th.

This year, it’s a new story for the Chip Ganassi Racing driver as he will take the green flag from second in Sunday’s Honda Indy Toronto.
