Donald Theetge Wins the APC 125 at Delaware Speedway

Donald Theetge overcame an early spin to take victory in the APC 125, the opening race of Saturday’s doubleheader at Delaware Speedway in the No. 80 Garoy Construction/Revêtements Vulcain Chevrolet.

D.J. Kennington behind the No. 17 Castrol Edge/Brimstone Games/CIM Metals Dodge looked dominant through much of the race, keeping a strong lead while Kevin Lacroix in the No. 74 NAPA Racing/Valvoline Chevrolet kept the pressure close behind. Cautions and battles throughout the pack gave Theetge a chance to mount his comeback.

After regrouping, he steadily moved through the field, passing Kevin Lacroix for second by Lap 74 before taking the lead from D.J. Kennington with just over 10 laps remaining.

“What a race tonight. I have to congratulate my team, we knew from the start the car was fast. After the spin, the caution came at the right time and gave us a chance to fight back for the win. Without my sponsors, I wouldn’t be here, so I want to thank them for their support,” said Theetge.

Theetge won the APC 125, followed by Kennington in second and Lacroix in third. He also recorded the fastest lap of the race, which places him on pole for the evening’s second event, the NTN 125, scheduled to go green at 8:10 p.m.
