The NASCAR Canada Series wrapped up its 2025 season at Autodrome Montmagny with the XPN 250 on the 3/8-mile oval. Marc-Antoine Camirand won the race and clinched the title of the NASCAR Canada Series Championship presented by Pinty’s and Evirum. The driver of the No. 96 Paillé Racing Chevrolet is making history as the first driver to ever win back-to-back titles in the series.
The weekend kicked off with practice on Saturday, where Donald Theetge set the pace in the No. 80 Garoy Construction/Revêtements Vulcain Chevrolet. In qualifying, Alex Labbé captured the pole position with a blistering lap of 17.436 seconds, leading the field to green for Sunday’s XPN 250, behind the No. 36 VR Victoriaville/Lussier Chevrolet. Nine drivers, including Labbé himself, bettered his previous track record set in 2024 during the session.
Polesitter Alex Labbé led the opening laps in the XPN 250 before Donald Theetge surged ahead early. Camirand, who started second in the No. 96 Paillé Racing Chevrolet, steadily worked his way forward, overtaking both Labbé and Theetge to take command of the race.
The closing stages saw an intense fight among the top contenders. Camirand, Theetge, Labbé, and William Larue, in the No. 45 Larue Industrial Snow Blowers/XPN Chevrolet, swapped positions multiple times, with Larue climbing into second and pressuring Camirand on the late restarts.
In the end, Camirand held strong to capture the win, with Larue finishing second in the No. 45 Larue Industrial Snow Blowers/XPN Chevrolet and Labbé securing third after starting from pole.
“It’s amazing to finish the season with our fifth win. We’ve captured the trophy two years in a row now and I couldn’t be more proud of my team.”, said Camirand.
Championship challengers D.J. Kennington, in the No. 17 Castrol Edge/Brimstone Games/CIM Metals Dodge, and Andrew Ranger, in the No. 27 Paillé Racing Chevrolet, were both factors in the top 10, finishing fifth and sixth respectively after battling each other hard in the final laps.
To end the season, driver of the No. 69 Sierra Excavating/Bolton GM/A&G Sweeping Chevrolet, Domenic Scrivo earned the Rookie of the Year title.
The XPN 250 closed out the 2025 season with a day to remember at Autodrome Montmagny.
