Although fans have kept their hopes up for seeing the NTT IndyCar Series and NASCAR Pinty’s Series weave through the streets of Toronto, it won’t happen for 2020.
The City of Toronto Mayor John Tory announced on Friday, May 15 that all permits for events have been cancelled through the end of August, which includes the Honda Indy Toronto that takes place down at Exhibition Place in the heart of the city.
The event organizers have already released a statement in response, stating, “In anticipation of the municipal guidelines announced today for holding events, preparations and discussions have been ongoing with the City of Toronto, Exhibition Place, Honda Canada and INDYCAR to explore alternate date options for 2020.”
