Johnny Sauter Disqualified Following Vet Tix Camping World 200

Johnny Sauter did not run up front at Atlanta Motor Speedway like he is used to, and will not be able to keep his 17th-place finish.

Following the Vet Tix Camping World 200, his No. 13 Ford F-150 was disqualified from the event due to a violation of the rulebook.

According to Section 20.16.2.f  in the 2020 NASCAR Rule Book, which states “no treatment or modifications of any kind” are allowed to be done to the Goodyear rubber.

As a result, Sauter was dropped from where crossed the finish line to last on the final results rundown.

NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoor Truck Series Director Brad Moran states during each event, the sanctioning body takes one set of tires from one driver of each manufacture to put into a “dunk tank” which tests for modifications and treatments. Ultimately, Sauter’s tires taken during the third stage failed the test.

This marks the second disqualification of the season, the first in the truck series though. Jimmie Johnson saw his runner-up in the NASCAR Cup Series Coca-Cola 600 disallowed due to the rear alignment numbers not matching up in the optical scanning station.
