Josh Berry Proud of Maximizing Opportunity with Uncertain Future Ahead

By: Ashley McCubbin

After years of putting in the time through the short tracks and proving his ability behind the wheel, Josh Berry was rewarded with a 12-race opportunity in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with JR Motorsports.

Thus far, Berry has taken advantage of his time behind the wheel, securing a victory at Martinsville Speedway and five top-10 finishes, including a podium performance in three of his last four starts.

“Each race has been different in itself,” Berry told NEWS FROM THE PITS. “Just really proud of the way we’ve ran the last few months. Proved a lot to a lot of people and to myself through this opportunity so I feel good with where I’m at right now and where at right now. It’s hard to say what the future will tell for me but no matter what happens after this is over with, I personally solidified myself in knowing I’m capable of doing this and now we’ve had some results that proved that.

“So I’m very thankful for getting to do it. It’s been a great opportunity and been so much so hopefully there’s more to come for me.”

The performance behind the wheel has allotted for more opportunities, as Berry did triple duty with the ARCA Menards Series East, Xfinity, and NASCAR Cup Series at Dover International Speedway. Additionally, he will be behind the wheel for Jordan Anderson Racing at Mid-Ohio SportsCar Course.

“I’ve had a lot of different discussions with people about different things over the next few months – mainly it’s just figuring out what I’m available to do,” he commented. “I have commitments with our late model program at JRM that I want to fulfill because that group means a lot to me, and that’s not something I’m willing to turn my back on. So it’s a fine line of honoring that, as well as our partners on that side to using some opportunities here and there to gain experience to hopefully carry over into next year with what I’m doing then. So we’re still in discussions at this point.”
