MARKHAM, Ontario —- It may not be the perfect season that Scott McLaughlin was looking for, but least it’s been consistent.

The Team Penske driver put together another solid points day at the Ontario Honda Indy Dealers at Markham with an eighth-place finish. It marks his third consecutive top-10 and ninth on the whole as a season.

When asked to rate his season to date prior to the event, the grade was simple – a B-.

It makes sense when you look at McLaughlin’s career thus far in the NTT IndyCar Series as he is currently ranked seventh in the standings, compared to 2023 and 2024 where he placed third. It is worth noting he has not won a race in the past couple years either, with his last victory coming at the Milwaukee Mile in 2024.

Fortunately, that is one of the races left on the schedule as the series heads to Washington, D.C. for a special event with the Freedom 250, followed by a double header at Milwaukee before closing the year at Laguna Seca.

“We’ve just got to keep focusing on what the main objective is,” McLaughlin told News From The Pits. “Obviously, we’re focused on finishing off the year strong with these two street circuits, an oval double header, and then looking at Laguna Seca. It gives us a chance to be on all disciplines of tracks – short oval, street course – to give us good springboard into next year.”
