The Unique Trophies of NASCAR Part 2

By: Ashley McCubbin

The Jukebox. The Guitar. A Boat. The Sword. A Statue of a Monster. The Grandfather Clock.

Through the history of NASCAR, there have been several unique trophies given out through the years to various drivers for their victories and success. In the first part, we asked the drivers what’s the most unique trophy in their collection. Now in this part, we ask which trophy they would like to add.

Cole Custer

“I think everybody would probably say Daytona.  I mean, that’s the coolest trophy you can have in your collection, but that would be a really cool one to add to the house.”

Kyle Busch

“That’s pretty easy, I would love to be able to win a Daytona 500 and have the Harley J. Earl trophy. It’s really the one big race win missing from my to-do list, so I’m hoping I can have at least one of those someday when my career is all said and done.”

Justin Haley

“There’s definitely some cool trophies I’d like to add to my collection, like the Dover monster and the Bristol trophy. Who doesn’t want a sword?! But I think the Daytona 500 trophy would be big, so I think that’s what I would have to go with.”

Chase Briscoe

“I would love to add the Daytona 500 trophy, obviously, or the Brickyard 400 — any of those trophies.  I’ll take any of them I can get at this point, but from a cool factor I would say that those would definitely be pretty sweet to have.  New Hampshire’s is very unique with the lobster and Texas has the pistols, so any of those.  I think, for me right now, I’ll take any trophy I can get, but those are definitely ones that kind of stand out.  I guess Kentucky when we used to run there, they had the jukebox.  That was always pretty cool I thought.”

Jeb Burton

“I would have to say the Martinsville grandfather clock is one I would love to have, because it’s my hometown track. It’s a really cool trophy.”

A.J. Allmendinger

“As far as NASCAR, I really want to win a Martinsville clock! But my all-time dream is to win the Borg-Warner, which is the trophy for the Indy 500. I think I am probably past that in my life, but that is definitely the one I have dreamt of winning.”

Noah Gragson

All of them. Dover (Monster). Does Nashville still the guitar? That’d be kind of cool. I wish we went to Iowa; Iowa had that gas pump. That would be pretty cool. I mean, they’re all cool; I want them all.

Josh Berry

For the longest time, it was the Martinsville clock. Now that I have two of those, I guess I need to pick a new goal. A guitar would be awesome; I’m from around the Nashville area. Grew up watching races there, went there for Xfinity and Truck races so I guess we have that one coming up, so we’ll aim for that.
