MARKHAM, Ontario — If you would have asked Louis Foster about his chances of winning the race on Sunday afternoon, there would have been a lot more hope than after Lap 43 of the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham.
After leading 32 of those 42 total completed laps, the No. 45 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing Honda hit the turn three wall after completing a pass on eventual winner Marcus Ericson for the third spot.
Following the incident, Foster came out of the University of Indiana IndyCar Medical with ice on his hand. He was asked by reporters, stating, “I think it will be ok. I’m just being cautious”.
He went on to add the incident “was just super annoying” as “we actually had a shot to win today.”
The NTT IndyCar series prepares for another major brand new road course as they head to Washington D.C this upcoming weekend for the Freedom 250. Foster was asked if he thought that him and the team had learned anything for the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham. A frustrated Foster said, “I want another shot at this, cause today we blew it. Simple as that”.
