Tristan McKee shines at Toledo Speedway, earns his second ARCA Menards Series win

TOLEDO, Ohio — One might say Saturday’s Owens Corning 200 at Toledo Speedway was decided on Lap 6 of 200, when the key moment of the sixth race of the 2026 ARCA Menards Series occurred.

After setting the best lap in practice and securing the Sioux Chief PowerPEX Pole Award earlier Saturday, Max Reaves took the green flag in his No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota in familiar fashion — a seemingly easy path to the lead from the front row.

Tristan McKee, though, made clear in the first few laps his No. 77 Pinnacle Racing Group effort would be a worthy challenge. He reached Reaves’ back bumper on that pivotal Lap 6 and slid underneath entering Turn 3. Contact ensued, the result of which was a flat left rear tire on the No. 18 machine. Reaves spun, and he ultimately never recovered from the sequence.

McKee, on the other hand, cruised to his second ARCA Menards Series victory and his first on a short track. The 15-year-old Spire Motorsports development driver left no doubt, winning the race by more than three seconds over second-place Thomas Annunziata.

“Just going for it, trying to get track position early,” McKee said when asked about the early incident with Reaves. “I don’t know if my side skirt hit him or what. Sorry to him; didn’t mean that. I think we just cut his tire down. Didn’t really slam or anything like that.

“That was a fun race. This track is awesome. It’s a fun, rhythm track.”

To his credit, Reaves nearly mounted a comeback. After working his way back to the lead lap, he found himself on the outside of the front row — alongside McKee — for a restart with 40 laps to go. He experienced an apparent mechanical issue on that restart, though, and faded through the field, ultimately finishing 11th and a couple laps down.

Thomas Annunziata, who entered Saturday’s Toledo race fourth in the ARCA Menards Series championship standings, charged on the last few laps for a second-place finish. Carson Brown settled for third after spending the entire evening racing in the top five.

Jake Bollman, the ARCA Menards Series points leader, showed multiple flashes of strength racing against the likes of McKee, Reaves and Brown on Saturday. He finished fourth. Caden Kvapil, who made his ARCA Menards Series debut Saturday night, finished fifth.

Isabella Robusto overcame a blown engine in practice to finish sixth after starting in the back of the pack. Jason Kitzmiller, Wesley Slimp, Ryan Vargas and Craig Pellegrini Jr. finished seventh through 10th, respectively.

The ARCA Menards Series gets a few weeks off before it returns to action June 5 at Michigan International Speedway. The ARCA Menards Series East, which competed alongside the national ARCA Menards Series at Toledo on Saturday, gets a long break before its July 24 event at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park.
